Held on the first Saturday of the month, every month from 9.30am at the Ballarat east community gardens .
This is a communal swap, where produce or goods are placed on the swap table, and whatever is needed is taken. There isn’t any monetary value placed on goods. Anything left at the end of the swap is taken to # Food is Free.
It’s best to arrive early (between 9:30 and 10) as that’s when most of the swapping happens. The kettle is always on so you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, and chat with like-minded people. It’s also nice to see what’s happening at the Community Garden.
The swap is not limited to garden produce, and can include seeds, plants, pots, books (usually gardening & cook books), eggs, egg cartons, preserves, jars for preserves, baked goods and craft items.
